Project Internship Opportunities (open positions)
Project Topics/Areas:
- Sensors/Actuators/Intelligent Data Acquisition & Control System, or IoT devices (embedded system, software, ML, AI and data analytics).
- Batdesigns, thermo-mechanical and optoelectronic performance enhancementstery/Solar/Laser – Novel materials, device elements and applications in cell/module level .
- Modeling & Simulation – Multiphysics and multiscale simulations, advanced finite element methods for solid/fluid/gas dynamics modelling (e.g. xFEM, adaptive, meshless, level-set, particle, multiscale etc.) and code development with applications in structural/acoustic/electromagnetics or problems in coupled gas/fluid/aero dynamics depending on specific skills and background subject understanding. Applications may also include areas of simulations with reduced-order modelling, digital twin, data-driven simulations using ML and AI.
- Advanced testing instrumentation, non-destructive testing, systems health monitoring – simulations and experimental studies, simulation and testing hardware in-loop technologies and tool development for aerospace, mechanical machineries and bio-medical and other monitoring systems.
- Atomistic, Molecular and Nano-Scale Modelling and Simulations (Quantum ab initio, DFT, MD, Nano- and Micro-Scale Simulations Tools and methods) with applications in fundamental material property predictions, new materials discovery, optoelectronic device design, machine learning, advanced measurements.
- Finite element methods for solid mechanics and dynamics modelling (xFEM, higher-order, spectral, adaptive, meshless, level-set, particle, multi-scale simulation tools and methods) and applications in structural mechanics, impact dynamics and fracture/ acoustic/ electromagnetics or coupled problems.
- Finite element methods for fluid/gas/aero-dynamics (adaptive, spectral, higher-order, mesh-less, discontinuous mesh, particle simulation tools and methods) and applications in aerospace and energy systems.
- Systems modelling and design optimization, reduced-order modelling, digital twin, data-driven simulations using ML and AI,and applications in Model based Systems Engineering, life-cycle analysis
Eligibility: BTech/MSc/MS/MTech or equivalent with excellent academic records or excellent hand-on experience with software, coding capabilities or hardware/experiments. Those who are pursing final year degree program or fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
Duration: Tentative duration of the internship is six months to one year. Upon successful completion of project internship, regular research project staff position may be available to continue depending on performance and availability of open position.
